Specifically, the two orders cover a PET line for filling 28,000 bottles per hour and a glass line handling both returnables and non-returnables rated at 25,000 bottles an hour.
The PET line
Once commissioned, the line will be used to fill a wide range of still and carbonated mineral waters as well as soft drinks from the Romaqua product portfolio. Here, efficiency meets sustainability throughout the entire process chain. Optimised infrared heating technology in the Contiform blow-moulder reduces energy consumption during preform heating and is also suitable for lightweight preforms, thus enabling savings in PET consumption. Once blow-moulded, the bottles are passed to the Modulfill VFS which ensures accurate, hygienic filling. Its PFR valves permit stepless regulation of the filling velocity, so they can be optimally matched to a wide range of different product characteristics. That is particularly advantageous when processing carbonated or foaming beverages. The electronic control block in the valve ensures precise dosing and reduces compressed air consumption by 30 per cent. And the VarioClean CIP system also saves resources by providing fully automated cleaning processes and minimising cleaning-agent consumption.
The returnable-glass line
Order number two relies on Krones’ expertise in non-returnable and returnable glass bottles. Bottles and crates are fed into the line by a Pressant Universal depalletiser and a Smartpac unpacker and then impeccably cleaned by a Lavatec E4 bottle washer and a Linajet crate washer respectively. Once the beverages have been blended in a Contiflow mixer , they are filled into glass bottles by a Modulfill HES . Romaqua has chosen an Ergomodul labeller and a Variopac Pro W wrap-around packer for dressing and packaging the containers.
