Wosana is relying on aseptic PET filling lines from Krones for hygienically safe, energy efficient beverage bottling. With two state-of-the-art turnkey lines, the company is upsizing its capacities and consolidating its position as a leading contract filler for sensitive beverages in Poland.

For more than three decades, the Polish beverage producer Wosana has been synonymous with high-quality water, juices and beverages and known for its strong commitment to providing natural, healthy products. Besides its own brands, Wosana also fills other companies’ beverages. In fact, it is one of the country’s leading contract fillers. In early 2024, Wosana became part of the Japanese DyDo Group – another milestone in the company’s dynamic development.

Wosana took an important first step in its technological development in 2019 when the company decided to install its first aseptic PET filling line from Krones at its Andrychów plant. “As our company continues to grow rapidly and we need to implement a modern, high-performance aseptic line, we have chosen to partner with Krones AG, a leading supplier of aseptic filling technology”, says Marcin Jurczyk, Vice President of the Management Board. “We have selected this partner not only for the brand’s reputation and the high quality of its solutions, but also for several other key reasons. These include access to advanced technologies that ensure the reliability and safety of the process, as well as the ability to adapt the system to our plant’s existing infrastructure.”

The line chosen was a turnkey solution with dry sterilization for bottles. It comprises a PET-AseptBloc D with a filler and capper in aseptic design plus an upstream Contiform 3 Pro stretch blow molder. A Sleevematic labeler, Variopac Pro FS packer and Modulpal Pro palletizer round out the order. Rated at 18,000 bottles per hour (based on the 1-liter bottle) and capable of handling a range of container sizes, the line was designed specifically for still beverages. For Wosana, the investment was a decisive step toward tapping into new market segments and strengthening its competitive position.

Second line brings added formats and efficiency

The successful operation of the first line and excellent collaboration with Krones led to the next stage of expansion in 2025: This spring, Wosana put into operation a second aseptic line – this time with a Contipure AseptBloc DA, which provides a fully aseptic process chain beginning with preform sterilization. “This technology combines innovation with responsibility, supporting manufacturers in achieving their sustainability goals and in building strong and trustworthy brands. At Wosana S.A., we are keenly aware of the environmental challenges our industry is facing. Since 2022, we have been consistently implementing our ESG strategy, with CO₂ emissions monitoring as one of its key pillars. This is why every investment decision we make is guided by the principle of sustainability, as we seek solutions that combine high efficiency with environmental awareness”, states Małgorzata Myszka-Mikłusiak, Sustainability & ESG Manager. “The new Krones filling line aligns perfectly with these principles – its modern technologies reduce energy and water consumption while helping to minimise waste. This marks another step towards cleaner and more environmentally friendly production and demonstrates our responsible, sustainability-driven approach to the company’s growth.”

The line is designed specifically for handling still, sensitive beverages such as juices, teas, isotonic drinks and vitamin water. Particular attention was paid to larger packaging volumes, and the line processes PET bottles at a rated output of 23,000 bottles per hour based on the 1-liter bottle.

    Aseptic filling technology

For more than 20 years, Krones has offered aseptic filling – with options for both wet sterilization (using water, steam and peracetic acid) and dry sterilization (using gaseous peroxide, trade name perhydrol). A particular milestone was the development of the Contipure AseptBloc, a fully integrated solution in which bottles are blown from pre-sterilized preforms in an aseptic process, directly inside the protected isolator. This technology is especially suitable for sensitive, low-acid products and at the same time enables significant reductions in energy, compressed air and chemical consumption as compared to conventional bottle sterilization.

For this line, too, Wosana has chosen a turnkey line from Krones – which includes not only the aseptic block but also the Sleevematic TS, Variopac Pro FS and Modulpal Pro – and has thus once again opted for end-to-end system integration, resource efficiency and product safety. Despite the limited space in the hall and a tight timeframe, the project was completed within 14 months. The new line was officially inaugurated on 26 March 2025.

“Both completed projects have confirmed the strong cooperation between our companies. What deserves particular emphasis is our partner’s strong focus on technical and quality excellence, as well as their high level of expertise and professionalism”, underlines Plant Manager Mirosław Hapka. ”Our cooperation has been characterised by openness and partnership, enabling us to achieve our objectives efficiently. The extensive experience gained during the first project, along with the flexible adaptation of the filling technology to our new aseptic products, confirms that choosing Krones was the right decision. Together, we have succeeded in creating a solution that not only meets the highest quality standards but also supports our company’s growth and innovation.” With the two turnkey aseptic lines, Wosana has strategically expanded its production capacity – and at the same time further strengthened its position as a modern contract filler for juices and sensitive beverages.
